CURRENT KNOWN ISSUES INVOLVING BLANK SPACES AND CRASHES

Some players have reported that Toca Life World has been constantly crashing on their devices. Such problems could relate to performance issues related to the type of device used.

While we'll never be able to support all devices, we’re doubling down on our work to improve the performance of the app. Our hope and objective is that all players on supported devices should have smooth, crash-free and fun gaming experiences. The improvement work will take some time (likely several months). Please read through the questions below so we can best assist you with continuing playing the game in the meantime:


WHAT ARE “BLANK LOCATIONS”?

Some players experience blank or blacked out visuals in their Toca Life World game.

WHY ARE THERE BLANK AREAS IN MY TOCA LIFE WORLD?

The issue seems to primarily affect players on iPad air (1st Gen), iPad mini 2 & 3 if the devices are running an iOS 12 version.

WHEN WILL THIS BE FIXED?

Over the coming months we are prioritizing work on improving stability, including issues causing blank areas in the game. However, we can’t say when or if your specific issue will be solved. We're really hopeful we can fix a lot of device specific issues with this work, although we're aware that due to the age and specifications of some devices it might not be possible. So keep “automatic updates” enabled on your device and check back at this article for any news.


HOW CAN I PLAY WHILE I WAIT FOR TOCA BOCA TO FIX THE ISSUE?  

If you’re having problems with Toca Life World and the device you’re playing on is an iPad air (1st Gen) or an  iPad mini 2 & 3 running an iOS 12 version, check if there are any other devices in your household to which you could move your purchases across to and continue playing Toca Life World. Please check if there are any other devices in your household to which you could use for Toca Life World. CAN I MOVE MY TOCA LIFE WORLD INTACT TO ANOTHER DEVICE?

You’ll be able to move all your purchases. Sadly we can’t move progress, so gifts and creations will have to be reclaimed and recreated.


SHOULD I MOVE MY GAME IF ONLY ONE LOCATION IS AFFECTED?

IS THERE A RAM MINIMUM FOR TOCA LIFE WORLD?

While there is no identified minimum RAM, at this stage you shouldn't have any issues with a device that has more than 2GB of RAM. If you are having issues then please reach out to the support team so they can investigate the issue further.


Wait, what is RAM and how do I know how much RAM my device has?

RAM is an acronym for Random Access Memory. It’s like the device’s short-term memory, used for processing actions and handling apps. Since RAM settings differ between manufacturers, the easiest would be to do a web search on how to find your specific device’s RAM.
